Process

It all starts with foot measurements/measurements. The necessary data is taken for the production of the wooden last.

全ての始まりは足の採寸／計測からスタートします。木型製作に必要なデータを取ります。

Based on the measurement data, a wooden rough turn last is cut out using a stock knife and file.

採寸データを基に専用の鉈とヤスリを使い木型を削り出していきます。

The upper design is made into a paper pattern. The balance of the placement of each piece is decided.

アッパーのデザインを型紙に起こしていきます。各ピースの配置バランス等を決めていきます。

These are temporary shoes prepared before the production shoes are made. The shoe is checked to ensure that the foot fits comfortably, that there is no discomfort when walking, and that the wooden shape and design balance are correct.

本番靴作成前に用意する仮の靴です。足の収まり具合や歩行時の違和感等のチェック、木型形状やデザインバランスなどを確かめます。

Sew the cut uppers together.

裁断したアッパーを縫製します。

Make shoe insoles.

The insole is made as the foundation of the shoe. It also creates a seam wall called the holdfast, which is essential for later processes.

靴の土台となるインソールを作成します。のちの工程で必要不可欠な縫い壁の設定も行います。

The upper and core materials are put together and wrapped around the wooden last using lasting pincer and nails to fix them in place.

アッパーと芯材をひとまとめにし、専用ペンチと釘を使い木型に包み込み固定させます。

A strip of leather called a welt is used and sewn together with the upper and inner sole.

ウェルトと呼ばれる帯状の革を使い、アッパー、中底と共にまとめて縫製します。

After attaching the cork and leather shank, the soles are attached.

緩衝材と負荷部分への補強芯を設置し、靴底を取り付けます。

Stacks of leather are used to create the heel.

革を積み上げヒールを作ります。

A hot iron is used to penetrate the wax to the edges of the sole, and finishing work is carried out to ensure that the colour and waterproofing properties are retained.

温めた鉄ゴテを使い保色や防水を兼ねたワックスを靴底周りに塗り込みます。

The wooden last is removed, the sock and laces are fitted and the entire shoe is polished. The shoe tree is inserted and the shoes are delivered with the shoe bag.

木型を抜き取り中敷と靴紐を取り付け、全体を磨き上げて完成です。シューツリーを入れ、シューズバックと共にお渡しいたします。
